Mezzanines & Structural Steel
Unused clear height turned into floor. The column grid, slab and egress decide the inspection.
Mezzanine floor systems
Three ways to hold up a second floor, decided by what is on the ground.

Free-standing structural mezzanine
ManufacturedAlso called: steel mezzanine floor, structural platform
250–1,000 kg/m² · spans to 8 m · single, double or triple level
Its own columns and beams, independent of the racking. Change the storage underneath any time without touching the floor above.
Our line: Mezzanine Floor System →
Rack-supported mezzanine
ManufacturedAlso called: rack-clad mezzanine, racking-supported floor
Upper floor carried on the pallet racking below
Less steel and less floor obstruction, at the cost of locking the rack layout in. Uprights must be designed for the combined load from day one.

Shelf-supported mezzanine
ManufacturedAlso called: shelving-supported floor, multi-tier floor
2–3 levels carried on the shelving itself
The economical route for hand-picked stock. Effectively the multi-tier racking system with a full walking floor.
Our line: Multi-Tier Racking System →
Equipment and machine platform
To orderAlso called: process platform, plant platform
Point-load designed to the equipment schedule
Access and maintenance platforms around plant, tanks or lines. Designed from the machine's loads, not a uniform kg/m².
Our line: Custom Fabrication →
Mezzanine goods lift and drop zone
To orderAlso called: mezzanine loading gate, goods transfer level
Pallet gate, lift shaft opening or conveyor break
How stock gets up there is the part most often left until last. It determines throughput of the whole floor.
Decking & floor surfaces
What spans the beams. Moves the quote more than anything else.

Plywood / MDF deck panel
Manufactured12–25 mm · commonly on a steel tray
The most common and least expensive deck. Cuts to a non-standard bay on site. Not for wet areas.

MS chequered plate
ManufacturedAlso called: chequer plate, tread plate
3–6 mm · anti-slip pattern
Hard-wearing, non-combustible, takes point loads and trolley wheels without dishing. Heavier and noisier underfoot.

Steel bar grating
SuppliedAlso called: open grating, walkway grating
Open grid · load-bar depth to span
Lets light, air and sprinkler water through. Standard on process platforms and wherever the level below must stay visible.

Welded wire mesh deck
ManufacturedAlso called: mesh deck, wire deck
Mesh panel on channel supports
The in-rack sprinkler answer, and the deck that lets a fork driver see the beam being landed on.

MS steel panel deck
Manufactured2 mm mild steel panel per bay
For dense, small, heavy loads that would dish a ply sheet over a season — fasteners, boxed parts, tooling.

Cement / fibre board deck
SuppliedAlso called: fibre cement deck, calcium silicate board
Non-combustible board over steel deck
Where a fire rating is required on the floor construction itself.
Stairs, gates & access
A way up, a protected edge, and a way to get goods across it.

Industrial staircase
ManufacturedAlso called: mezzanine staircase, access stairs
Straight, dog-leg or spiral · with handrail and kick plate
Rise, going and headroom follow the building code, not the space left over. Retrofitting a compliant stair later is expensive.

Handrail, guardrail & kick plate
ManufacturedAlso called: edge protection, balustrade
Typically 1,100 mm high · mid-rail and toe board
Continuous around every open edge. The toe board is what stops a dropped carton reaching the floor below.

Pallet drop gate
ManufacturedAlso called: pallet safety gate, up-and-over gate
Up-and-over or sliding · always one side closed
Lets a pallet be landed on the mezzanine with the operator never exposed to the open edge. The single most important item on a mezzanine's safety list.

Self-closing safety gate
ManufacturedAlso called: swing gate, ladder gate
Spring-return · at stair and ladder heads
Removes the gap a chain leaves.

Cat ladder & access ladder
To orderAlso called: vertical ladder, hoop ladder
With safety hoops above 2 m
Maintenance access where a stair will not fit.

Walkway & catwalk
To orderAlso called: crossover, access gantry
Grating or plate on a light frame
Connecting levels, crossing conveyors, reaching plant.

Crossover stair over conveyor
To orderStepped bridge with handrails
Stops the habit of climbing over a running conveyor, which is how most conveyor injuries happen.
Cabins, partitions & enclosures
Rooms inside a shed. Modular, so they move with the operation.

Modular office cabin
ManufacturedAlso called: site office, portable cabin, prefab office
Insulated panel walls · glazed · wired
Supervisor offices, QC rooms and dispatch offices placed on the warehouse floor or on the mezzanine above it.
Our line: Modular Office Cabins →
Guard cabin / security kiosk
Manufactured1–3 person · glazed on the gate side
Gate and weighbridge posts.
Our line: Modular Office Cabins →
Wire mesh partition
ManufacturedAlso called: mesh partitioning, security cage
Floor-to-ceiling mesh with hinged or sliding door
Segregates high-value, controlled or bonded stock while keeping it visible and sprinkler-covered.

Tool crib / secure store
ManufacturedMesh or panel enclosure with issue counter
Controlled issue of tooling and consumables against a signature or a scan.

Machine guarding & safety fencing
To orderAlso called: perimeter guarding, robot cell fence
Mesh panels with interlocked gates
Around automation, palletisers and robot cells. Interlocks are the compliance item.

Clean room and controlled enclosure
SuppliedPanel walls, controlled entry, filtered air
Pharma and electronics assembly zones inside a general warehouse.

Custom steel fabrication
To orderAlso called: bespoke fabrication, job work
Cut, formed, welded and finished to drawing
Frames, stands, brackets, jigs, guards and one-off structures that no catalog line covers.
Our line: Custom Fabrication →
