Cheapest construction. Restricts how a truck can approach, which matters in a tight aisle.

Stamped heat treatment

Mandatory for export packaging. Untreated timber is refused at the port, not at the warehouse.

Nine blocks · full perimeter base

Stiffer than a stringer pallet and better supported on beams. What most racking load charts assume.

1,200 × 800 mm

European trade standard. Common in Indian export and in multinational supply chains.

Nestable · lighter · consistent dimensions

Export one-way use. Nesting cuts return-freight volume by around 70%.

Top deck only, no bottom boards

For floor and machine bases. Not rackable on beams without a support bar.

Also called: heavy duty plastic pallet

Reinforced · dynamic 1,000–1,500 kg · racking 500–1,250 kg

Only a pallet with a stated racking load goes on beams. A dynamic rating is not a racking rating — this is a common and dangerous substitution.

Nests to a fraction of stack height

One-way and export shipments where return freight is the cost driver.

Light section · no ISPM 15 requirement

Cheaper than treating timber, and immune to customs timber inspections.

Pharma, dairy, meat and audited food. Closed deck means nothing collects in the structure.

Spreads load between layers and stops interlocking cases from crushing each other.

Closes a collared load for stacking.

Kraft or plastic sheet with pull tabs

Replaces the pallet entirely in container loading, recovering the pallet's height and weight for payload.

Sits between beams front to back

The retrofit for undersized, damaged or non-standard pallets. Restores a load path the rack was designed to have.

Stack dispensing or 180° load transfer

Changing a load from one pallet type to another — a routine requirement where hygiene standards differ between inbound and storage.

Also called: stillage, box pallet, mesh pallet

Mesh sides · stackable 3–4 high · half-drop front

Loose or irregular parts that cannot be stacked on an open pallet. The drop front lets a picker reach in without unstacking.

Foundries, press shops and anywhere a timber pallet would be crushed, burnt or contaminated.

2, 3 or 4-sided · nestable · 300–500 kg

Store replenishment, quick-commerce dark stores, laundry and pharmacy distribution. Moves without a truck.

Also called: folding cage, foldable stillage

Folds to roughly a quarter of height

Returnable transport packaging on a closed loop. Return freight is the whole business case.
